Leadership forum takes Ballarat women on a journey of self discovery

AUSTRALIAN Women’s Leadership Forum is coming to Ballarat in March.

This informative and exciting one-day event will provide women from Ballarat and surrounding districts with a unique opportunity to access high quality leadership training, engage with their peers, and discuss how women can support each other and break down barriers in the workplace.

The agenda is ideal for women who are looking for increased awareness of their leadership style and competencies, as well as practical strategies to help them overcome challenges within their work and personal life.

“We are encouraging women who have leadership roles without the title, to be able to step in and really look at themselves, how they are doing, how effective are they and will them with opportunities to develop even more,” said Suzi Finkelstein, leadership and advocacy director at Women & Leadership Australia, the forum organiser.

“Leadership needs a network, how is your network supporting you and how can you refresh it, this is more than coming to an event and swapping business cards.

“One third of Australian women live in rural and regional areas, and we are very excited to introduce these hardworking women to new and engaging leadership development experiences and networking opportunities.”

Local business and community leaders including City of Ballarat mayor Cr Samantha McIntosh, Ballarat Health CMO Associate Professor Rosemary Aldrich, Kim Halbert-Pere, Fed Uni’s vicechancellor Professor Helen Bartlett, Meeta Narsi and Bonnie Chew, will be addressing delegates.

Ms Finkelstein said, “The local heroes and diverse speakers from the area builds up the social capital and connection amongst the attendees.”

Tracey Spicer AM will deliver the keynote address to conclude the forum.

The content and flow of the program is carefully designed to immerse participants in the subject matter and create valuable insights informed by collective experience.
