Looking forward to meeting at the lookout
BUNJIL’S Lookout will once again become a place of bustling activity with the return of the community gathering next month.
Following its debut last year, organisers will be bringing the event back replete with food trucks, activities, live music, and market stalls.
David McKellar is one of half a dozen organisers behind the free event and said it’s about fostering togetherness in the region.
“It’ll be a big family day type of event with food and entertainment, and a bunch of activities like face painting, a petting zoo, art classes,” he said.
“The aim is to build community connections.
“We went through the community planning process and surveyed the local residents and the main outcome was people wanted more events and more opportunity to get out into the community.”
The event was established through the Maude, She Oaks, and Steiglitz Community Planning Group which is being supported with $10,000 from Golden Plains Shire, and $4600 over three years from Berrybank Wind Farm.
Mr McKellar said community feedback is being utilised to help grow the event.
“We’re hoping to build on last year and get more people there and reach as many as we can,” he said.
“The feedback we got was that people had a good time and it was good to have an event.
“There’s not been a lot of things happening in the last few years for the community so it was good to have something on.”

The event will run from 10am to 2pm.
