MOONDREAMZ’s charity ball, A Night Under the Moonlight generated seventeen thousand dollars, and counting, for the Royal Children’s Hospital neurological department.

At The Lounge inside The George Hotel on Friday, 21 February the gala’s 170 attendees heard from special guests, Gorgi Coghlan and neurologist Professor Andrew Kornberg, and released their inner child for young people with brain cancer.

Moondreamz founder, Tim Brayshaw received reports that it was “one of the most memorable nights people have had in a long time.

“We wanted to capture that memorable, magical energy. We had the red carpet rolled out, I wheeled my motorbike into The George, making a grand entrance with Bad to the Bone playing,” he laughed.

“We had a few celebrities from Ballarat, and it was great to see their faces. There were gifts, prizes and giveaways.”

Mr Brayshaw said coordinating his first major fundraising evening has “opened a lot of doors” for his charity.

“More people are aware of the mission of Moondreamz, so there’s even more support and the Ballarat community has embraced it. Even Griffin Burger has a Moondreamz burger on sale.

“I’ve got the Moomba Birdman Rally coming up around the corner. It’s full guns blazing, which is great because it’s all for the kids and it’s going to benefit them a lot down the track,” he said.

Moondreamz will help the Royal Children’s Hospital celebrate their 150th anniversary this year.
