Major FOTO awards now open

BALLARAT International Foto Biennale is calling for entries for the 2019 New Photography Award and the 2019 Martin Kantor Portrait Prize.

The 2019 New Photography Award focuses on photographers working in the Asia Pacific region, whose work is beginning to receive critical attention and deserves to be seen by international audiences.

The Award carries a first prize of $10,000 with the winner of the People’s Choice Award receiving $1000.

The 2019 Martin Kantor Portrait Prize, with an acquisitive first prize of $15,000, is open to all photographers and photo media artists.

The portrait must be of a significant living Australian, distinguished in art, letters, science, sports or politics

The Biennale supports and presents Australian and international photography and today is recognised as the most prestigious photographic arts festival in Australia.
