INVERLEIGH-based home and living business High Eight has celebrated a decade of operation in the community.

Lisa Sarcevic founded High Eight in November 2013 out of a 150-year-old cottage on High Street with the aim of delivering exceptional customer service.

The store offers a range of homewares, furniture, statement pieces and women’s apparel along with a house styling and colour consultation service.

“I’ve been in the interior design and styling industry for many years,” said Ms Sarcevic.

“I thought it was time to have my own business, work for myself and I decided because I lived in Inverleigh it would be good to be based in the town.”

Last year Ms Sarcevic built a family home at the back of the property so she could live on site and always be available to assist customers.

“I’m really big on pushing people to shop local and being aware of who their local businesses are in the area,” she said.

“We are very big on customer service and that’s a point of difference.”

Over the years High Eight has expanded, now offering online services which can be accessed nation-wide.

“During the COVID time we were able to reinvent by doing click and collect and having an online store already helped,”’ said Ms Sarcevic.

“I did some home videos so people could style their homes and they found those helpful.”

The shop has become a destination for clients from Melbourne, Geelong and surrounding areas, and Ms Sarcevic said that benefits for the whole community.

“We are unique and there is nothing else around because we even have Melbourne clients come,” she said.

“We are a destination store now and when people come, they have a coffee next door or go to the hotel for a meal so it’s a flow on effect.”

To celebrate the milestone High Eight is offering 20 per cent off throughout November.

Ms Sarcevic is also holding a Christmas Shopping night on Friday 24 November from 5pm with drinks, a grazing table and 20 per cent off gift wrapping with attendees asked to rsvp by Monday 20 November.
