THE Ballarat community is invited to enjoy Miners Rest Primary School and Kindergarten’s biennial fete on Friday, 29 March from 5pm.

Stall holders from markets across the district will be on site, alongside competitions and events coordinated by the school’s students.

There will be live entertainment, plenty of catering, a book fair, jumping castle and games for all ages.

Principal, Dale Power said the whole school has contributed to organising the twilight event.

“We are a united and active community. Public events, such as our forthcoming fete, unites our school community further and provides a great learning opportunity for our students,” he said.

The fete also creates a practical literacy, numeracy and scientific context so students can engage with their learning in a different way.

“We welcome family, community members and any inquisitive members of the broader community to come down and enjoy the amazing offerings at our fete,” Mr Power said.

“Our growing kindergarten and school will truly appreciate any support.”

The first fete was held in 2015, and since then, the school has grown by 30 per cent.

More than 400 students are currently enrolled and the facility has recently received state government funding for a new campus.
