Mount Rowan road safety
A NEW two-and-a-half million-dollar roundabout has made travel through the intersection of the Midland Highway and Western Freeway simple and safe.
A fatal crash occurred at the intersection in November 2017. The works have reduced the risk of vehicle crashes at the site.
More broadly, $14.5 million has been allocated to safety development along the highway between Creswick and Ballarat which should be completed by the middle of the year.
The package of work includes intersection upgrades, shoulder sealing, wider centrelines, rumble strips and dedicated turning lanes.
