Mums in mind with special hamper prize
A RANGE of local businesses have jumped onboard to create hampers for a mums on their special day.
Area brands like Odd Sockery, Interknit and Branberry, Acorn & Squirrel, Clay Motion, and Studio Duck have all combined to create the packs, and you can win one for mum.
The idea came up as the Ballarat based businesses looked for ways to keep at the forefront of people’s minds.
“There’s an amazing amount of locally made products in Ballarat and surrounds but it’s hard to be a small brand and also get your name out there so I thought, why don’t we band together?” said Interknit and Branberry co-director Kassie Blaszak.
“Sometimes it feels like our little brands get lost in the noise of bigger brands who can afford more advertising so a giveaway that brings attention to our brands is a great thing.
“It feels like there’s a whole population out there who would love to support us, if they only knew how to find us.”
The hampers include artisan wool socks from the Odd Sockery, a pure Australian Merino wool scarf and beanie from Interknit and Branberry, two styles of hand finished wood earrings from designer Acorn & Squirrel, a small oven baked clay crafting kit by Clay Motion and a laser cut sentiment magnet from new Ballarat graphic design house Studio Duck.
In total the pack has a recommended retail price of $213.50. Visit branberry.com for more information, to enter the competition to win a hamper, or to purchase one for mum.
You can also pick up the hampers by calling Branberry during business hours on 5331 5533 or dropping by the shop at 1004 Humffray Street South, Mount Pleasant.
The business owners are working together coordinate the packs, disburse the payments and share the postage or hand delivery costs in the hope that people will choose Ballarat made this Mother’s Day and shine a light on the great products available locally.
