Name change but harvest still the same
TOMORROW green thumbs from across the city will celebrate the bounty from the land as Ballarat Community Garden hosts its annual harvest festival.
From 11am to 3pm on Sunday, 1 March everyone can share in all the great things that come from the community space.
Known this year as Autumn Harvest Festival, the event will include music, food, plants, preserves, garden talks and children’s’ activities. Plus, there’s a chance to win some great prizes in the raffle.
Also on offer are bee-keeping, green wood turning, and spinning workshops. While John Ditchburn is set to host a talk on getting the most out of your veggie patch.
The Ballarat Wholefoods Collective will also be onsite, that’s an organization that specialises in bulk foods of good quality and that are nutritionally sound.
The Ballarat Community Garden is located at the corner of Queen Street and Dyte Parade, Ballarat East.
