FORTY members of the Bannockburn Chamber of Commerce gathered last week to celebrate the publication of the organisation’s second annual Bannockburn and District Business Directory.

The sixty-page colour booklet has been designed to promote local enterprises, and encourage people living in the Bannockburn area to support businesses, services and trades close to home when they need them.

President Bronwyn Davie said 85 businesses are featured in this edition.

“The directory has been produced by chamber volunteers including Emma Jennings from On Track Virtual and Leanne Adams from Will Design, and it was printed by Print Design Australia,” she said.

“We’ve also incorporated some new community pages to encourage people to use local services, for example, there’s a page sponsored by Member for Corangamite, Libby Coker, on childcare options.

“It’s going to be distributed through member businesses and can be picked up at the local shopping centre.”

The launch event at the Bannockburn Bowls Club was also an opportunity for the chamber to welcome new members, with businesses receiving certificates.

“The bowls club have also become new members this year. They have an ad in the directory, and we’ve run an article about their new lights,” Ms Davie said.

“We’re hoping to utilise them as members as much as we can and will aim to do some fun networking events with businesses on the greens in the future.”

Ms Coker was also in attendance, and members of the Bannockburn SES including Daryl Jeran made a presentation, calling for support to establish a new, updated unit facility.
