New role for Riordan
MEMBER for Polwarth Richard Riordan has landed a new job as part of the State opposition’s mid-term shadow cabinet reshuffle.
Along with his previous roles as the Shadow Assistant Minister for Regional Victoria and Shadow Assistant Minister for Agriculture, Mr Riordan will now also take on the duties of Shadow Assistant Minister for Scrutiny of Government.
“Richard has demonstrated through his position as deputy-chair of the Public Accounts and Estimates Committee that he is an effective voice in exposing Labor dishonesty and hypocrisy and this new role will enable him to continue to do so beyond PAEC hearings,” said state opposition leader Michael O’Brien in a statement on Sunday.
The reshuffle also saw former opposition leader Matthew Guy returned to the shadow ministry with the finance, jobs and trade and business precincts portfolios.
“As we reach the halfway point of this term, these changes will enable my team to better hold the Andrews Labor Government to account for its failings and offer Victorians a strong and positive alternative for the future,” Mr O’Brien said.
