OMR play on Australia Day
DUNNSTOWN’S favourite sons, Old Melbourne Road, will bring their unique Celtic inspired rock to the Munster Arms on Australia Day and will be raising money for Mallacoota.
Also billed as the band’s comeback gig, members of OMR have a personal connection to the East Gippsland town that was cut off during the bushfire emergency and saw thousands of residents and holiday makers evacuated by the Australian Defence Force.
“My daughter and her partner who are teachers at the Mallacoota School are determined to help rebuild the town they have come to love over the past five years and we just want to do anything we can to help this very special and unique place,” said singer John Murphy.
26 January will see Old Melbourne Road will donate their performance fee from the show and also pass the hat around during the event. Muster Arms staff will be running a barbecue to raise extra funds.
