Opportunity to learn about Shire budget
AN online information session will be held this Wednesday 5 February to inform the community about the draft budget development and submission process.
The session will include information about the budget process, timeframes for development and feedback, feedback received through the financial plan consultation and how to lodge a budget submission.
Golden Plains Shire CEO Shane Walden encouraged the community to learn about the budget process.
“This is an opportunity for the Golden Plains Shire community to learn about the development of the 2025/26 council budget,” he said.
“Following the session, we encourage people to make a budget submission, as it’s important for council to understand the community’s priorities.
“Council considers the submissions and the continued delivery of important services and projects for the community in developing a financially responsible budget.”
The link to attend the online session is available on the Golden Plains Shire website and will begin at 6pm.
Written budget submissions must be lodged by 9am, Wednesday 5 March by emailing [email protected], visiting goldenplains.vic.gov.au/consultations or by post to the Director of Corporate Services, Golden Plains Shire Council, PO Box 111, Bannockburn, VIC 3331.
Council will hold a meeting at Golden Plains Civic Centre on Tuesday 1 April 2025 where submissions can be presented to councillors.
The final budget will be considered for adoption in May.
