Optus secured as major SpringFest sponsor
SET to span Lake Wendouree’s entire six-kilometre foreshore, SpringFest Ballarat’s annual Market Sunday has a brand-new supporter.
Optus has jumped on board as SpringFest’s 2019 naming rights sponsor, helping the Rotary Club of Ballarat to bring 530 market stalls, a wide range of food, art and craft, music, clothing, jewellery, plants and flowers, performers, car displays, events and activities to attendees of all ages and interests.
Alan Rigoni, Optus Territory General Manager, South West Victoria said his team is proud to be giving back to the local community.
“This is the first year Optus has been a part of Ballarat’s renowned SpringFest,” he said.
“At Optus, we are passionate about supporting the communities we operate in and look forward to seeing Ballarat come together for a great day out that has something for everyone.”
David Torrington, President of the Rotary Club of Ballarat said SpringFest Market Sunday will be busy and bustling with all stall sites fully sold out.
“We’re excited,” he said. “It’s a family day and it’s great for Ballarat and the community.”
Plenty is planned to entertain these families around the lake, alongside the market stalls.
A Sportz Zone will introduce children to different activities, promote health and fitness, and host the Western Bulldogs with their Inflatable Roadshow.
Wendouree Ballarat Rowing Club is welcoming anyone to try Dragon Boating, while SpringFest Ambassador and MasterChef Australia’s Tim Bone serves up ‘Tim’s Toasties’ at his food stop.
The Tasting Temptations area will offer various culinary delights, beers and wines, the Australian Defence force will be available to share their opportunities on offer, and emergency services vehicles will be displayed.
The Peter Stevens MG Show-n-Glow, the RACV Goldfields Resort Children’s WunderFest, the Grampians Central West Waste and Resource Recovery Spring Garden, and the PETstock Pet Corner are other major drawcards.
Single use plastic bags will not circulate at SpringFest this year, so shoppers are asked to bring their own bags from home.
A park and ride bus service from Victoria Park will run, and further parking is available at the North Gardens Reserve.
