GENKIFIT at Smythesdale has recently launched a Pilates program after the success of free trials held last year.

Last week more than 30 people came along to two sessions and certified Pilates instructor Jaymee Ellis said this was a huge turnout for the small town.

“We are overwhelmed and grateful for the tremendous support we received from the Smythesdale community,” she said.

“To see over 30 people attending our Pilates sessions is a testament to the dedication of our community towards health and well-being.”

The aim of GenkiFIT is to help the community take part in mindful movement and to promote physical and mental health and wellbeing.

The organisation has been involved in the Smythesdale community for 13 years running a range of fitness programs and creating a sense of community.

The Pilates classes are suitable for all fitness levels and have a focus on developing core strength, flexibility, and body awareness.

“We believe in creating a positive and inclusive fitness environment for everyone,” said Ms Ellis.

“The remarkable turnout to our Pilates classes is inspiring, and we look forward to continuing to serve the community with fun, affordable and accessible fitness classes.”

Pilates classes take place at the Woady Yaloak Recreation Facility at Smythesdale at 5.45pm and 6.30pm Mondays.
