GOLDEN Plains Shire councillors have endorsed the municipality’s Early Years and Children’s Plan for 2025 until 2029.
The document provides a strategic framework for the health, wellbeing and development of children aged up to 12 years old and it focuses on creating inclusive, supportive and connected environments for children.
The document was endorsed at last month’s council meeting and implementation will include services and programs for children and their families over the next four years.
Mayor Cr Owen Sharkey said the plan is about how the municipality can create benefits for children and families.
“The municipal Early Years and Children’s Plan 2025 to 2029 provides a clear and actionable roadmap for council’s ongoing commitment to supporting children and families across the Shire,” he said
“The plan reflects extensive research and early stakeholder engagement, aligns with state and local policy frameworks, and positions council to respond proactively to the evolving needs of the community.”
The document was developed following one-on-one consultations, community surveys, listening sessions and a community workshop.
