GOLDEN Plains Shire council has begun developing of a four-year municipal Early Years and Children’s Plan.

The plan will focus on supporting families and children aged zero to 12 within the Shire.

There will be a range of engagement opportunities to gather insights from residents including one-on-one consultations, a community wide survey, and pop ups, listening sessions, and workshops.

Golden Plains Shire CEO Shane Walden said it is important to understand the needs and priorities of families, carers and young children in the Shire.

“The municipal early years and children’s plan will serve as a strategic roadmap for council’s approach to early childhood development and family support over the next four years,” he said.

“This initiative underscores council’s commitment to creating an environment where our children can thrive, and families can access the support they need.”
