IF you’re working to preserve a slice of Victoria’s heritage, you could be eligible for a State government Community History Award.

Projects of varying categories are financially rewarded and celebrated by the Public Record Office Victoria and Royal Historical Society of Victoria.

Collaborative community projects, local work, publications, digital stories, diversity programs, historical interpretations, oral presentations, articles and more will be acknowledged, with the Victorian Premier’s major award receiving $5000.

Ballarat’s Phil Roberts won this most prestigious gong in 2019 for his book, Avenue of Memories, published by the Arch of Victory – Avenue of Honour Committee.

“I was pleasantly surprised. I wasn’t at all expecting the main prize,” he said.

Mr Roberts received the award from Catherine Andrews, the Premier’s wife.
