Program seeks to prep preps
CHILDREN in Golden Plains Shire starting prep this year are invited to attend a special event at Bannockburn Library.
Ready, Set, Prep is designed to be a practice session for students who will be commencing school this year, with those who come along asked to wear their uniform.
Stories will be read to the children and there will also be opportunities for the preps to meet each other.
Each attendee will also get to make their own book about school to take home with them.
Vanessa Schernickau, CEO Geelong Regional Libraries said the session is the perfect way for incoming preps to prepare for the school year.
“Ready, Set, Prep! is a great way to help your little one prepare for their first school year, and meet other local families with prep children too,” she said.
“While you’re there you can chat to the friendly library staff about our regular after school programs and explore the children’s area; don’t miss the great outdoor area too.”
The session will be held on Tuesday 23 January from 10.30am until 11.30am and an adult is required to accompany children.
Registration details can be found on the Geelong Regional Libraries website.
