Ray of giving keeps shining bright
FOR a tenth year, local real estate agency Ray White is running its popular Christmas toy drive.
Known as A Little Ray of Giving, the campaign sees staff from the Ray White Ballarat office gather gifts for children of all ages in support of The Salvation Army’s festive efforts.
“This campaign has always been a real highlight of our year,” said Ray White Ballarat director Phillip Lee.
“It gives us a chance to reach out to the people around us directly in a way that benefits people with less advantages, and get them things they need during a demanding time of year.”
With the effects of COVID-19 still being felt, and continuing to impact the wider issue of social need within the community, Mr Lee said A Little Ray of Giving was more important than ever.
“2021, and 2020 too, have both been extremely difficult for everyone but no one’s felt the negatives more than those groups that were already vulnerable,” he said.
“Lots of people and families have found themselves in a bad position because of the way things have gone recently.
“So this year’s A Little Ray of Giving is especially important to us, and it’s going to be a good way to let people in need of help know that their community supports them.”
To take part you can drop gits off at the Ray White Ballarat office, located at 37 Lydiard Street South, where they will be stored under the tree before being collected by The Salvation Army.
All you need to do is let a Ray White team member know if the gift is for a boy or girl and the approximate age group.
A Little Ray of Giving has been running at Ray White offices across Australia and New Zealand since 2012 with thousands of gifts donated to not-for-profit organisations and charities.
