GOLDEN Plains Shire Council has released its road grading calendar for this financial year.

The annual program allows for the grading of the unsealed road network within the Shire and every unsealed road will be graded at least once.

A Golden Plains Shire spokesperson said the goal of the calendar is to answer residents’ queries.

“The aim of this is to answer the most common question we hear, ‘when will our road be graded?’,” they said.

“The road grading information on the events calendar is easily accessible and provides customers with information about when their unsealed road is scheduled to be graded.”

Golden Plains Shire grades 672 kilometres unsealed roads each year as well as the resheeting of 21 kilometres of gravel roads.

“As part of this program, council has committed to grading 672 kilometres of our unsealed roads once per financial year in line with our unsealed roads charter,” the spokesperson said.

“Council has also reviewed the way we grade roads and continues to review practices to ensure improved outcomes.”

To view when each road will be graded, visit the events calendar on the Golden Plains Shire website.
