Road safety grants available
THE second round of TAC’s Towards Zero Community Grants program is now open, aiming to boost communities’ road safety and reduce fatalities.
The state government is encouraging community groups and local councils to apply for the grants of up to $30,000 which close on Wednesday, 8 May.
Minister for Roads, Road Safety and the TAC, Jaala Pulford said the grants process gives people the opportunity to take ownership of road safety issues impacting them daily.
“By working with local communities to improve road safety in their area we can work together in our goal to reach zero deaths or serious injuries on our roads,” she said.
The program is part of the government’s $1.4 billion Towards Zero Action Plan hoping to see fewer than 200 lives lost on Victorian roads by 2020.
