Races to see this RoadNats week

ELITE cyclists are currently in Ballarat and Buninyong for the Australian Road National Championships, and you can get amongst the action until Sunday, 16 January.

The criterium events will lap Sturt Street tomorrow, Friday, 14 January with the masters’ race at 10.30am, the under-19 women at 2.20pm, the under-19 men at 3pm, the under-23 men at 3.50pm, the under-23 and elite women at 5pm, and the elite men at 6.30pm.

From 7.30am on Saturday, 15 January, intellectually impaired and para-cyclists will kick off the road race action on Mount Buninyong.

The under-19 women and men will ride from 9.40am and 9.50am, the under-23 men at 1.20pm, and at 5.15pm amateur riders will participate in the Gran Fondo over five laps.

The ultimate day of competition, Sunday, begins at 8.50am with the under-23 and elite women’s road race, before the elite men at 12.30pm.

Club team time trials get underway this morning at 10am at FedUni Mount Helen.

A free community movie night will be held in De Soza Park while the Gran Fondo takes place, with live music and food trucks from 5.30pm, and a screening of Space Jam: A New Legacy at 7.30pm.
