ROKEWOOD is among smaller Victorian towns to benefit from the latest round of the state’s Tiny Towns Funding.

The Rokewood Corindhap Football Netball Club has been successful in applying for $16,000 in funding under round three of the fund with the dollars going towards seating at the Rokewood Community Hub.

About 40kms away, Elaine is also among the latest round of Tiny Towns recipients.

There, the Elaine Recreation Reserve has been successful in securing $38,630 for its Public Space Enhancement and Signage Upgrade projects.

Member for Eureka Michaela Settle congratulated the local recipients on securing the dollars, delivered through her portfolio as Minister for Regional Development.

Settle said the Tiny Towns funding is supporting projects that have been identified by local communities as priorities.

“Small towns are at the heart of our region, and these investments will help strengthen the facilities and spaces that bring communities together,” she said.

“Whether it’s improving accessibility, upgrading community infrastructure or creating more welcoming public spaces, these projects will make a real difference for local residents.

“Some of Victoria’s best communities are also our smallest, and the Tiny Towns Fund is helping make sure they have the facilities and infrastructure they need to thrive.

“We know strong regional communities are built through sustained investment, not cuts.

“These upgrades will strengthen community facilities, improve accessibility and create better spaces for people to come together and connect.”

The funding round will support 157 projects across 151 Victorian towns that have a populations of under 5000 people with grants ranging from $5000 to $50,000.
