Rosellas to host wildlife show
THE Lethbridge Recreation Reserve will soon be the site for a different kind of entertainment with wildlife attractions returning later this month.
Reptiles, mammals, and all manner of animals will swarm the reserve with members of the Lethbridge Junior Football Club bringing Jamie and Kim’s Wildlife Zoo at the end of June.
Club coordinator and secretary Sharon Boyd said the event will provide a fun way for kids to kick off the school holidays.
“It’s a 45-minute show run by Jamie [Lind] who has so many different animals like a wombat, wallabies, a sugar-glider, a dingo,” she said.
“He talks about each creature and lets the kids have a pat and a hold where they can ask any questions.”
The club first hosted Jamie and Kim’s Wildlife Zoo last year, and Ms Boyd said it was a great way to engage with the community.
“An evet like this really brings the community together,” she said.
“Everyone was telling me they loved it last year, that it was very informative and that they loved the animals. They got up close and personal with animals they normally wouldn’t.
“It’s a good event to have on the school holidays too because it’s a nice cheap alternative to a lot of other things happening around that time.”
The event will entail three sessions on Saturday 25 June with the first from 9.30am to 10.15am followed by 11.30am to 12.15pm and finally 1.30pm to 2.15pm.
Each session will be capped at about 30 kids. Tickets are $12 and can be booked at bit.ly/45CWfqe.
