COMMUNITY members are invited to celebrate fifty years of the Woady Yaloak Kindergarten next week.

The Scarsdale kindergarten is managed by the Eureka Community Kindergarten Association and the celebrations will take place on Tuesday 13 May from 3.30pm to 5pm.

There will be a coffee van, historic photographs, and cupcakes, and a time capsule buried in 2010 will be opened at 4pm.

Three and four-year-old educator Susanne Hildebrand encouraged the community to come along and reflect on the last five decades.

“It would be wonderful to see as many people as we can to help us celebrate and see people from the past who might’ve been involved in the kindergarten,” she said.

Ms Hildebrand said it is important to have a facility within the community close to local families.

“It’s just wonderful being out in a little country kindergarten and having lots of natural spaces within the yard to work with,” she said.

“It’s much easier for families to have somewhere local rather than having to go half an hour into town to go to the nearest other kindergarten.

“It’s wonderful being in a small community to and really being able to build relationships and work with the community.”

The kinder is located at 25 Pitfield Road, Scarsdale.
