Seeking Lucas Primary principal
A RECRUITMENT drive has begun to employ the first Principal of Lucas’s new public primary school before it opens next year.
Educators across the state are encouraged by the Department of Education and Training to apply to lead the school.
Member for Wendouree, Juliana Addison said the process will select an “experienced and passionate principal,” ensuring local children can access a great education.
Western Victoria Upper House MP, Jaala Pulford said Lucas Primary is part of a state government commitment to growth in Ballarat.
“This is another major milestone for families in Lucas as part of a school building boom that will see 100 new government schools open across Victoria over the next eight years,” Ms Pulford said.
The public is also asked to submit names for consideration. A decision should be made later this year.
The Lucas facility is part of the State government’s $3.8 billion spend on new school builds and more than 1300 school upgrades.
