Seminar to support stress management
THE Brown Hill Church will host a free stress management seminar next Friday, 21 June.
From 1.30pm, Ballarat Community Health’s Counselling Services Coordinator, Katrina Bevelander will explore the impacts of stress on the human mind and body.
She will discuss factors that cause and enhance stress, explain how symptoms, psychologically and behaviourally, impact the brain, and provide some self-care strategies to assist in strengthening resilience.
Ms Bevelander said the session is for anyone.
“We all lead busy lives and in this modern age there are a lot of stresses. It will benefit anyone who wants to be able to manage stress better.
“It’s about building strategies and a skill base to be able to manage stress better so stress doesn’t have as many impacts in life,” she said.
Ms Bevelander is looking forward to sharing some of her knowledge base in a preventative capacity, having seen the impact stress and mental health issues have on the lives of Ballarat people.
“Ballarat Community Health is really committed to people in our local community leading healthy lives and experiencing a sense of mental and physical wellbeing.
“Offering community presentations is just part of what we do. If people are finding that stress and life challenges are impacting on their day-to-day lives, they can access support by calling Ballarat Community Health,” she said.
