GOLDEN Plains Shire has found its interim chief executive officer.

With outgoing CEO, Eric Braslis, set to leave the organisation today, his role will be filled by Michael Tudball before a temporary replacement is found.

Mr Tudball’s appointment was confidentially endorsed during last week’s council meeting before being announced the following day, and mayor

Cr Brett Cunningham said he’ll play a key part in the municipality’s transition.

“Michael steps into this vital role and will guide the organisation through this transition period while council undertakes a thorough recruitment process for a permanent replacement,” he said.

“We are confident that Michael’s leadership as Interim CEO will provide the stability and strategic direction needed during this transition.”
Mr Tudball has previously filled senior executive and chief executive roles with municipalities such as Moira, Corangamite, Southern Grampians, Hindmarsh, and Melton.

His role with Golden Plains Shire will see him working across the organisation to deliver essential services effectively while promoting its developments, and ensuring communication between residents and businesses.

Noted achievements during Mr Braslis’ tenure as CEO include the commercialisation of the Bannockburn Shire Hall, the handover of municipal childcare services to Kardinia, and private land development ventures at Bannockburn and Teesdale.

He announced his resignation following their March council meeting, and Cr Cunningham said he’s done an exemplary job for nearly seven years.

“Eric’s outstanding leadership set our council up for success, steering the organisation through some challenging times, helping them through the pandemic, floods and fires,” he said.

Municipal staff are actively undertaking the recruitment process for a permanent replacement for the role.
