MEMORIAL seating has been installed at the Leighdale Equestrian Centre to remember Deena Peters.

Ms Peters passed away in 2023, and Leighdale Equestrian Centre Committee of Management member Kirsty Blake said she was an “extremely hard working, dedicated and passionate” member of the community who loved “all things horses.”

“Especially building up the Leighdale Pony Club,” she said. “Deena’s vision, her drive and unwavering determination has made it the club it is today.

“A member of the Committee of Management for many years, on and off, Deena will be greatly missed.”

The Leighdale Committee of Management engaged the Bannockburn and District Men’s Shed to create the memorial seating for Deena.

“It is a beautiful 360-degree seat with the centre boasting a mature pink flowering crepe myrtle,” Ms Blake said. “This was unveiled by Deena’s husband Sefton and parents on Wednesday 12 June, and the Committee of Management believe it is a very functional and fitting tribute to a valued member of the grounds.

“Sit and enjoy the horses.”
