GOLDEN Plains Shire is now utilising online systems SpacetoCo and Grant Guru with the aim of making the process of booking a community space or seeking grant opportunities easier.

Grant Guru can be tailored to a resident, or group’s needs and users can bookmark grants they are interested in and receive notifications via email of new funding rounds relating to their projects.

It also offers tips for grant application success, and Golden Plains Shire mayor Cr Gavin Gamble invites individuals and groups to log on and take a look.

“This new system will make it quicker and easier for all community members to book our facilities, keeping them active and accessible for everyone,” he said.

“Council is committed to supporting local community groups, businesses, and residents to access the broad range of funding opportunities available to them.

“The implementation of Grant Guru complements council’s Community Strengthening Grants program by providing easy access to additional external funding opportunities that meet the specific needs of Golden Plains residents.

“It’s great to see these new platforms and systems being utilised to improve council processes and support our residents to access the facilities and services they need.”

Making these processes easier and ensuring community spaces are regularly activated is part of the Shire’s council planning. Municipal officers will continue to be available for assistance.
