SpringFest a Wunderfest for kids
IMAGINE pony rides, jumping castles, paper planes, clay making, pot planting, rock painting, wooden crafts, face painting and beading all in the one space.
The Kids Wunderfest at SpringFest Market will include all those fun children’s activities and more, sponsored by RACV Goldfields Resort.
Kicking off at 10am, there will be 38 entertaining stalls for the whole family at Kids Wunderfest, with more than 490 broader market stalls around the rest of Lake Wendouree.
RACV Goldfields Resort’s Front Office Manager, George Stratas said sponsoring SpringFest is a chance to keep in touch with the community, as one of the region’s largest accommodation providers.
“This is a great way to give something back. We’ve done it for a couple of years now, last year was very successful,” he said. “The joy and laughter in the area on the day is infectious and we love being a part of the day.
“Parents of kids participating in the rock painting activity can take advantage of a discounted golf offer at RACV Goldfields 18-hole course designed by Tony Cashmore.”
Rotary Club of Ballarat’s Rob Munro is expecting a huge turnout to the free day of family fun.
“They can walk around the whole lake, and with beautiful weather, it always bumps up the crowd, probably up to 30,000,” he said. “Our stall holders provide a whole range of activities for children to get involved with, but it’s also a chance for people to do their Christmas shopping.
“There’s art and craft, foodstuffs, plants and things for the garden as well. It’s a big day out.”
Phoenix P-12 Community College, Chinese Dragon Boats, Mount Egerton and Bungaree primary schools combined, and Miners Rest Primary School are all major beneficiaries of SpringFest fundraising this year.
SpringFest Ballarat is presented by Optus, as a project of the Rotary Club of Ballarat. The huge event is set for Sunday, 24 November. Visit ballaratspringfest.com.au for more information.
