WHILE SpringFest Market Sunday won’t run in 2021 to ensure COVID safety, the Rotary Club of Ballarat has refocused the event for a second year.

The SpringFest committee is re-launching their huge online raffle, and director Rob Glass is encouraging residents to purchase a ticket, as it’s the only fundraising activity that will benefit the festival’s community partners, and Rotary projects, like Phoenix College’s Blue EDGE program.

“Ticket sales will enable us to provide that support that we want to do,” he said. “We thank everybody for support this year, and in the past.”

Funds raised will be shared by the event’s community partners; Ballarat Chinese Dragon Boat Club, Bungaree Primary School, Miners Rest Primary School and Kindergarten, Mount Egerton Primary School, and Phoenix P-12 Community College.

Eureka Trailers, G. Gay & Co, the Regent Cinemas, Raintree Art, Ballarat Taxis, and Cyclescape have all donated raffle prizes.

Valued at $4000, first prize includes a custom-made trailer with Cage from Eureka Trailers, and a G. Gay & Co Mitre 10 voucher.

Second prize, worth $2200 in total, is a 28-seat private movie screening at the Regent Cinemas, a Raintree Art voucher and a $500 mystery prize, while the third placegetter will receive a pack worth $1300; a Mercedes Benz 12-volt ride-on toy car, a kids’ TREK Precaliber 20.7 bike, and a Regent Cinemas birthday party for 20 children.

Tickets are limited and can be purchased for $5 each. Four tickets are available for $20, seven for $35, 10 for $50, 15 for $75, and 20 for $100.

The SpringFest Online Raffle raised just under $16,000 last year, and Mr Glass said it will return in some capacity throughout SpringFest 2022.

Ambassadors Jules Zass and Tim Bone will draw the 2021 winners live on the Ballarat Times Facebook page once again, on Tuesday, 30 November.
