ANOTHER round of the Wiser Driver program is set to be delivered in the Golden Plains Shire this April.

The program is a partnership between the Shire, VicRoads and Hawthorn Community House and aims to keep seniors safe on the road.

Wiser Driver is a refresher course for seniors covering topics such as driving today, safety tips for wiser driving, safety rules, car safety features, being roadworthy and planning for the future.

Four sessions will be held in the region, beginning Monday, April 8 and concluding on April 29.

They will each run from 1pm until 3pm at the Bannockburn Family Services Centre, 2A Pope Street, Bannockburn.

Participants must attend all four sessions to complete the program.

Golden Plains mayor Brett Cuningham said the course was a great way for seniors to refresh their driving knowledge.

“Wiser Driver is a popular program presented in an informative and welcoming way which really helps senior members of our community with their road safety knowledge.

“I encourage seniors from all across the Shire who may feel they need to refresh their road safety knowledge to participate in Wiser Driver and experience an exciting program that promotes safe and responsible driving.”
