THE annual Carngham Linton Football Netball Club swap meet will be on at Snake Valley Recreation Reserve next month.

Held on Sunday 11 February, gates are set to open to the public from 8am with a range of stalls on site as well as a show n shine.

“We’ve been doing this since 2017 and we originally had about 50 sites and since then it’s grown with nearly 160 sites last year,” said the club’s revenue director Cameron Haines.

“There’s lots of different items with cars, caravans, and other things.

“We also have a show n shine where people bring their amazingly detailed vehicles that creates a lot of interest.”

Mr Haines encouraged anyone who is interested to get in early and book a site.

“Some people like to have a car and a trailer which is one site but other people have tables and display items so they may need two or three sites,” he said.

“We try and get as many booked in before the actual swap meet if we can and then they’re guaranteed a site.

“Last year we had a lot of people miss out.”

Mr Haines said the event is great for the Snake Valley community as it brings a lot of visitors to the town.

“It exposes a sleepy little town like Snake Valley as we’ve had people come from Gippsland, Melbourne, Horsham, Shepperton and there’s one guy who rang the other day who’s coming from South Australia,” he said.

“It helps the local pub and that sort of stuff because I know a lot of people have a feed there at some stage.”

Stall registration is open until Sunday 4 February with a cost of $20 per site and to book a site contact Mr Haines on 0419 166 540.
