Test your trivia knowledge
PEOPLE are gathering at the Courthouse Hotel at Smythesdale every second Tuesday to test their knowledge with trivia.
Questions cover topics like sport, animals, music and general knowledge, and there’s also a $20 pizza and drink deal also available.
Kerry Clarke organises the event and said each week is a little bit different allowing people to expand their knowledge.
“Last week it ended up being mainly geographical with images of cities or asking what’s to the left of India and things like that,” she said.
“A lot of the girls from IGA who had a table said, ‘we hate geography’ but by the end they’d done really well and there’s nothing better than learning while you’re out with your mates and having a drink.”
The night also provides an opportunity for community members to meet each other following the COVID-19 pandemic.
“People say they just love meeting other locals because they don’t have the opportunity when they go into the servo or into the IGA,” said Ms Clarke.
“Recently there were two tables of two and they had moved to the area in the last five years and didn’t really know anyone.
“They decided to become a team and they’d never met each other before so everyone gets to know each other and have a bit of a laugh.”
To get involved book a table, choose a team name, and be at the Courthouse at 7.30pm.
