Tigers take top netball spots
GEELONG and District Football and Netball League associated clubs throughout the region’s south had ample reason to celebrate earlier this month following the announcement of the season’s best and fairest netball juniors.
A plethora of players posed for their medals at the Geelong FNC clubrooms including Bannockburn’s Lucia Bugeja, who took the runner-up spot in the 15 & Under category with 27 votes.
Another win for the Tiger cubs came courtesy of Hannah Fletcher who tied for the 13 and under best and fairest with Inverleigh’s Poppy Barnett at 23 votes.
Fletcher was also named lead goal scorer with 239 goals while Maddison Kayler-Thomson from Inverleigh FNC scored runner-up with 180 goals.
Hunter Tait, also from Bannockburn, was runner-up for the 17 Under lead goal scorer with 287 goals by club count.
