Unbridled art inspired by the trots

THE Ballarat and District Trotting Club, hosting the second heat of the Australasian Inter-Dominion Championship at Bray Raceway is running an art activation project -Harnessing Creativity.

Students at 10 schools within the Ballarat region are competing in the project to have their artwork shown at Delacombe Town Centre from Monday, 5 November until Saturday, 1 December.

The winning creations, chosen by local street artist and illustrator Travis Price will then be refashioned by Mr Price into two pop art horses for display at the heats on Tuesday, 4 December in Ballarat and the final of the Inter- Dominion on Saturday, 15 December at Tabcorp Park Melton.

Mr Price will be onsite at the Ballarat track during the Inter-Dominion heats, painting a 21-meter-long mural under the Club’s grandstand weaving a Ballarat feel into the work.

The City of Ballarat is also supporting the return of the Australasian Inter- Dominion Championship to Victoria after a ten-year hiatus, which is seen as an enormous coup for the state’s harness racing community.

The Harnessing Creativity project offers a fun and exciting way for children and schools to be part of the build up to this outstanding event.
