A FREE, environmentally focused walk and talk event will be on at Clarkesdale Bird Sanctuary next month.

Organised by Golden Plains Shire council and the youth activation committee, the event is open to all ages and will be held Sunday 1 December.

Participants will learn about local native and non-native plant and animal species, hear expert talks, and take part in a flora and fauna bingo game.

Guest speakers will include Emily Noble from BirdLife Australia who will speak about the local threatened flora and fauna, and Bianca Fammartino from Leigh Catchment Group who will speak about environmental careers and enhancing biodiversity gardens.

Golden Plains Shire CEO Shane Waldon said it will be a great event.

“This event is a fantastic opportunity to learn about our local natural environment, sustainability practices and engage with expert guest speakers on our native flora and fauna in Golden Plains,” he said.

Registration is essential and can be completed on the Golden Plains Shire website. Morning tea is included.
