NOMINATIONS are now open for Barwon Water’s customer advisory committee, or CAC.

A statement from Barwon Water said the group seeks to represent the utility’s customers and the wider community, and they are looking for people who want to make positive change and share their insights.

The committee works with Barwon Water on the development of projects and strategies such as hardship support programs and tackling climate change.

Membership lasts for three years after which members can reapply and meetings are held four times a year in-person and online.

“If you’re passionate about our region, the community, our environment and how water plays a vital role in all aspects of life, we’re keen to hear from you,” said Barwon Water interim managing director Shaun Cumming.

Mr Cumming specifically encouraged members of First Nations communities to apply to share their knowledge about country and waterways.

“The CAC is a great way to make a difference in your local community and contribute to projects that will drive regional prosperity,” he said.

Applications are open until Friday 1 September and more information can be found at the Barwon Water website.
