DEVELOPED in response to skills shortages, a new online resource, connectinghealthcareers.com.au will link Grampians region hospitals to the health students they need.

Created by Federation TAFE’s Skills and Job Centre, the site supports providers by supplying recruitment, employee transition, and human resource information. It allows student jobseekers to search opportunities, write and submit resumes, source career pathway information and tips for professional interviews.

Grampians Region Health Work Readiness Program manager, Helen Cooper said it’s always challenging when recruiting staff throughout the regional health sector.

“This has been highlighted by workforce shortages during the current pandemic,” she said.

“This portal will bring TAFE students ready to embark on their professional career together with hospitals in our region.

“It displays local job opportunities and information on further study pathways as well as comprehensive advice for jobseekers and employers.”

Connecting Health Careers also offers a community noticeboard feature, and runs in partnership with Ballarat Health Services, Edenhope & District Memorial Hospital, East Grampians Health Service, Rural North West Health, Wimmera Health Care Group and West Wimmera Health Service.

The State government’s Grampians Region Health Work Readiness Program, as part of the Workforce Training Innovation Fund, backs the service financially.
