Wind farm ready to deck the halls
ROKEWOOD’S annual Christmas event, hosted by the Golden Plains Wind Farm, is back for another year.
The day is set to feature food, entertainment, children’s activities and a visit from Santa.
Anyone from Rokewood and towns across the Golden Plains Shire are welcome to attend.
“Golden Plains Wind Farm is proud to sponsor this annual event for Rokewood,” said Mark Bruty, a spokesperson for the project developer.
“It’s a great opportunity to bring the community together and thank them for the fantastic support they’ve shown for the project.”
Mr Bruty said the event will be a chance to celebrate recent developments at the wind farm including the delivery of wind turbine components.
“I’m looking forward to the event and celebrating all that’s been achieved in the past year, especially with the first turbine components now being delivered to site,” he said.
“We’ve also rolled out the community energy program and free home energy audits, as well as two rounds of the community grants program which are sponsoring some really worthwhile local projects.”
Attendees will also be able to discuss the project and future employment opportunities with wind farm representatives.
The event will be held at Rokewood Recreation Reserve from 11am until 2pm on Sunday 10 December.
