Winner, winner
TWO lucky winners will be driving off in brand new Mazda’s thanks to the Rotary Club of Ballarat South’s annual Community Assistance Raffle.
Drawn on Sunday at the Show Grounds by City of Ballarat mayor Cr. Samantha McIntosh, the huge barrel was stuffed with 104,000 tickets sold by 106 Rotary clubs mainly from across Victoria’s western region.
Now in its 27th year, the 2019 raffle tallied $166,656, adding to the millions of dollars already raised during the life of the event. With 80 per cent of each ticket going to the club that sold it, Community Assistance Raffle committee chair Marie Roache said, “It’s a self-help arrangement… we’re really happy to put in excess of $4.5 million back into local community clubs through this raffle.
Ballarat Mazda have been fabulous, and we really appreciate their support.”
