JULY is the perfect time to celebrate Xmas Crackers with The Little Brass Band at the Cabaret Club.

With a flourish of favourite carols, a sparkle of tinsel and delicious mulled wine to nourish the vocal cords of the merrymakers, Ballarat’s finest brass quintet will delight the audience with traditional, contemporary, familiar and not so familiar Christmas music.

The current members of the Little Brass Band are Frank Dyer on trumpet and piccolo trumpet, Claire O’Brien on trumpet and flugel horn, Janice Lynn on French horn, Cassandra Hiscock on trombone and Alan Williamson on tuba.

The Little Brass Band is delighted to be returning to the Cabaret Club, with its intimate setting perfect for a little audience participation. The band was established 16 years ago and Janice Lynn, who has been with the band since its inception, said that people are often surprised at the versatility of a brass quintet.

“We play a range of music from jazz to classical and all genres in between,” Lynn said.

“Of course, the focus of our Xmas Crackers concert will be carols and well known songs for this time of year, with a sprinkling of quirky compositions arranged by our trombone player Cassandra. And there is definitely going to be plenty of opportunity for the audience to join in some popular Christmas carols.”

With great food, reasonably priced drinks and a warm welcoming atmosphere the Cabaret Club makes this a perfect winter night out for a group of friends.

The event is set for Saturday, 27 July, 8pm -10.30pm, doors open 6.30pm. All tickets are $15 and you can reserve a table now for your Xmas in July function. Contact [email protected] for more information.
