EXPRESSIONS of interest are now open for young musicians who would like to take part in Golden Plains Youth Battle of the Bands.

The event will be held Saturday 24 August 6.30pm to 9.30pm at the Inverleigh Public Hall.

The competition is open to young people aged 12 to 25 and aims to showcase up and coming artists of all genres.

Bands, soloists, duo performances and digital artists are all welcome.

The event is presented by FReeZA Youth Events Crew with support from Golden Plains Shire council’s Youth Development Team and is designed to create a safe and welcoming environment for artists.

Mayor Cr Brett Cunningham encouraged young people to take part in the competition.

“I am thrilled that Battle of the Bands is returning in 2024 after a successful event last year where we witnessed the incredible talents of the young musicians in our Shire,” he said.

“I encourage young people aged 12 to 25 to express their interest in taking centre stage at the event and showcasing their musical talents in front of a live audience.”

Expressions of interest are open until Monday 15 July and submissions can be made on the Golden Plains Shire website.
