Young people encouraged to have a say
GOLDEN Plains Shire staff are looking for young people and youth focused stakeholders to respond two surveys designed to help identify the needs, aspirations and issues young people face in the community.
The initiative is designed to ensure young people have a say in creating programs to meet their needs.
The insights from the surveys will inform the development of youth programs and activities in the Shire.
“We really encourage young people to take the time to complete these surveys which will give council a clear indication of what they want delivered in our youth programs and youth services,” said Golden Plains Shire CEO Shane Walden.
“Council is proud to deliver a range of services and activities that assist young people to develop their social skills and leadership abilities while also providing activities that stimulate learning and physical activity.
“Attracting funding is critical to council’s successful youth service delivery and we are keen to hear from as many young people and community stakeholders as possible.”
To complete the surveys, visit the Golden Plains Shire website or hard copies can be collected at Golden Plains Shire customer experience hubs in Bannockburn and Smythesdale.
People who complete the survey can go in the draw to win a Segway Ninebot F2 Plus Electric Scooter funded by the State Government’s Engage! Program.
The surveys are open until Friday 13 December.
