Colliers International Ballarat celebrates first decade
Music, martinis and a buzzing crowd at tenth anniversary party above the real estate agency’s Sturt Street office
IT was a big week for David Wright, Colliers’ Managing Director, as the night before the firm’s 10th anniversary celebration he was lauded for a decade of involvement with Commerce Ballarat at the Federation Business School Commerce Ballarat Business Excellence Awards.
Mr Wright together with Andrew Lewis, with backgrounds in commercial real estate, set up the business in order to invest in key strategic areas in regional Victoria.
“We put our success [over the past 10 years] in both Ballarat and Geelong down to the general push towards decentralisation,” Mr Wright said.
“With State and Federal government regional support and investment, and perhaps with good timing as well, our business has followed industrial land growth in both Ballarat and Geelong.”
“We are market leaders in Ballarat and close to that in Geelong”
“While we don’t have an office yet in Bendigo we are working there, so part of our success is due to the growing strength in these three areas.”
Looking towards the future Mr Wright said he and Mr Lewis have plans for the next ten years that will hopefully see them expand the business permanently into Bendigo.
