To learn, lead and represent
THE real estate industry is complex, fast paced and ever-changing, which is why education and training are so important to our members, with access to local courses being of particular importance to our regional colleagues.
The Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) is committed to upholding and enhancing professional standards, knowledge and expertise as well as facilitating employment pathways within the industry.
Tomorrow’s successful leaders will be those who have an exceptional understanding of property legislation and a solid grounding in practical experience.
The REIV accesses our extensive membership network to source experienced specialists from across the real estate sector to help deliver our learning and development program, which balances theoretical learning with practical examples and experience.
Our Learning and Development program is a reflection of the REIV mission: “To lead and represent the real estate industry and advance the professionalism of members”.
The first step in most real estate careers is to complete the agent’s representative course.
An agent’s representative is an employee of a licensed estate agent who performs a variety of real estate roles including sales, leasing, and property management under an “Authority to Act” granted by the Business Licensing Authority.
The REIV also offers traineeship programs enabling participants to gain real world experience.
There will be two, five-day agents’ representatives courses held in Geelong before the end of 2018 as well as one each in Ballarat and Bendigo.
The REIV also offers professional development courses for agents in regional Victoria to ensure their knowledge and skills are up-to-date. Topics include Commercial Property Management Fundamentals, Residential property Management– Tips & Insights and Essential Safety Measures for Commercial Property Managers.
Before the end of the year there will be four of these courses held in Bendigo, three in Mildura, Traralgon and Ballarat and two in Wangaratta.
