Lake Wendouree v Redan

DALE Power’s men finally got back on the winners in list in the McDonalds Ballarat Football League last week with a victory over the struggling Cobras and will fancy themselves again on their home deck in this one against the Lions. Redan’s Lachie George, has put in back-to-back best on ground performances to show that he still a contender for the Henderson Medal, and once again shapes up to be the difference. Prediction – Redan by 24 points.

Ballarat v North Ballarat City

With both sides having nothing to play for, on paper this one looks to be a real fizzer. However, both the Swans and North have played some cracking footy over the last month, so it will be interesting to see if a few of the young ones get a go on either side. The Swans have debuted more kids then any other team in the comp with Lawson Prendergast, Lachy Dawson and Shane Pongho showing that they are up to senior footy standard. Prediction – Ballarat by under a goal.

Darley v East Point  

Match of the round as the Devils host the Kangaroos in a blockbuster at Darley Park. It’s East Point’s last regular game of season and a win here will secure them the minor premiership with the ridiculous percentage of 162.67, probably far too much for any of their close rivals to run down. Darley will be just happy to be back on the winner’s list after dropping their previous two and know that a loss could hinder their chances of getting a home final. Jordan Johnston booted four the Kangas last week a best on ground performance and along with his brother Matt, will be the key in East Point securing top spot heading into finals. Prediction – East Point in nail biter.

Melton v Sebastopol

Another cracker as the Bloods host Sebas in a matchup that pundits could be very well seeing in an elimination final in a couple of weeks’ time. Melton were too strong for Sunbury with Ryan Carter in defence superb in the victory and Mark Orr booting three goals down the other end. Sebas were a tad off colour in the cold against East Point and will be looking to recall spearhead James Keeble as well as Matt Austin in this one. Prediction: Sebastopol by under a goal.

Bacchus Marsh v Melton South

Without a shadow of a doubt the Marsh have been the big disappointments this season but will still be too strong for the struggling Panthers. Ex-Carlton Blue, Paul Bower, has probably been one of the real shining lights for the Panthers. Not even a man of his experience and talents could save Melton South though with their loss to Redan last week confirming back-to-back wooden spoons. Prediction – Bacchus Marsh by 75 points.
