BFNL drops 2022 fixture
IT’S almost game on in the McDonalds Ballarat Football Netball League with competition management announcing the seniors fixture for season 2022.
Play gets underway from Saturday, 9 April with a split round and all sides bar East Point – who have the bye – and Redan and Lake Wendouree will hit the track.
Lions and Lakers fans will have to wait until Good Friday to see their sides in action as the cross-town rivals will be the only game in town.
“The McDonalds BFNL board is pleased to announce the final fixture for the upcoming 2022 McDonalds Ballarat FNL Senior season,” a stamen from league general manager Shane Anwyl said.
“This season is hoped to build on momentum from 2021 that was cut short, with a full fixture of 18 rounds plus finals planned.”
Much like Easter, round nine will also be a split with Bacchus March and Sunbury getting action underway on Saturday, 11 June for the Queen’s Birthday long-weekend.
In the closest thing the league has to grand final rematches at the moment, East Point seniors will take on Sebas in round two football action, while the ‘Roos face the Roosters in A-Grade netball in round four.
Finals will start on Saturday, 27 and Sunday 28 August with flags decided on 17 September.
The statement from the league said details of twilight games were still being worked out with clubs and the BFLW and juniors fixtures would be released next week.
